Topic: Five Countries
Burundi:
· Burundi is a landlocked country in Great Rift Valley Africa. It has an area of 27834Km2and Population of 11750000 approx. Its former name is Ruanda-Urundi
· Its political capital is Gitega and Economical capital and largest city is Bujumbura
· Its official and national language is Kirundi. It got independence from Belgium in July 1962 and Current president is Pierre Kurunziza
· Burundian Franc is the currency of Burundi. Burundi is among top three poorest countries of the world.
· SNR is secret while IPS is news agency of Burundi
· Most of Burundians have HIV/AIDS. Burundi won a gold medal in 1996 Olympics which was the only gold medal won by poorest country of the world
· Burundi shares border with Lake Tanganyika which is second deepest, first in longest, second largest by volume and second oldest fresh water lake in the world located in Africa
Bolivia:
· Bolivia (Plurinational State of Bolivia) is a landlocked country in South America covered by Brazil, Peru, Chili, Paraguay and Argentina. It has an area of 1098581Km2 and Population of 11500000 approx.
· Sucre is Judicial and Constitutional while La Paz is executive Capital
· Official Language is Spanish and Currency is Boliviano
· ABI is the news agency of Bolivia and BIP is the secret agency of Bolivia
· Bolivia changed its name from Republic of Bolivia to Plurinational State of Bolivia in 2009. Current President of Bolivia is Jeanine Anez (Interim)
· Military service is obligatory for every man in Bolivia during 18-22
· Bolivia has world’s largest salt flat. Death Road is located in Bolivia
· It got independence from Spain in August 1825. Its former name is Upper Peru
Benin:
· Benin is a country in Western Africa which shares boundaries with Togo, Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Niger. It has an area of 114763Km2 and Population of 11500000 approx.
· Porto Novo (This city is a seaport which was famous for Trading of Slave. Millions of African were made slave and sent to Brazil in 18th Century) is its capital while French is official language
· It got independence from France in August 1960. It is named after water on which it lies “Bight of Benin” and formerly called Dahomey. The current president is Patrice Talon
· The only airport of country is located in Cotonuo which is largest city.
· AIDS is a major concern in the country and it is straining the health care system
Burkina Faso:
· It is a landlocked country in Western Africa that shares border with Togo, Benin, Ghana, Niger, Mali and Ivory Cost. It has a land area of 274200 Km2and Population of 21000000 approx. Its former name was Republic of Upper Volta
· Ouagaduoguo is capital and French is official language
· Its Currency is Western Africa CFA Franc (Which is currency of 7 countries in the region including Benin)
· It got independence in August 1960 From France
· Its President is RM Christian Kabore
Bulgaria:
· Bulgaria is a country in Southeastern Europe bordering with black sea. It has an area of 110879 km2 and population of 7100000 approx.
· Its capital is Sofia and Bulgarian is official language and official currency is Lev (BGN)
· Bulgaria is member of European Union as well as NATO
· Bulgaria was the part of USSR and one of oldest country in the world. Even fossil of Neanderthals have also been found in Bulgaria
· It is the only country in Europe which name has not changed since 680
· Cyrillic Alphabets belong to Bulgaria
· The Bulgarian army has never lost a single flag in battle throughout the history of the country and all its wars and battles.
· SIA is the secret agency of Bulgaria while BTA is news agency
· Current President of Bulgaria is Rumen Radev
